Please refer to the USA Softball Age Eligibility Chart to determine which age your player is eligible to participate. Players of younger age classification may be allowed to play in older age classifications (based on safety), players may not play (down) in the younger age classification. The chart represents the 2025 Fall and 2026 Spring playing seasons (9/1/25-8/31/26).

SPGSA SNACK BAR

PARENT RULES & REQUIREMENTS

SPRING 2026

The snack bar at the field is run completely by volunteers.  As such, we request that each parent do TWO- 2 HOUR SHIFTS (weekdays) or ONE- 4 HOUR SHIFT (weekend) PER PLAYER FOR THE SPRING SEASON to assist in making the snack bar available for all games during the season.

If games are rained out and/or rescheduled, it is the parent’s responsibility to sign up for another shift. Check the Sign-Up Genius frequently as we will be including shifts to BBQ (shout out to the dad’s) on the weekends as another option to fulfilling your snack bar commitment.

We understand all parents want to see their girls play so we suggest signing up on a day your child has no game scheduled. In the past we’ve allowed family/friends to work a parent’s shift for them and although our preference would be the parent themselves, we understand there will always be situations and/or special circumstances so that will still be an option for the parent so long the individual covering the shift is 18 years of age and older. This volunteer will sign in and have all pertinent information for the shift they are working/covering (player name/division/1st or 2nd shift and parent name).

All high school students that the league will be using for games/tournaments will be those students working to fulfill community hours for school related purposes and will be getting signed off.

Unfortunately, our experience has been many parents not showing up for their scheduled shifts and/or not selecting the buyout option, therefore, the league will not reimburse you once your check has been cashed for not completing your full snack bar requirement. To avoid such results, we hope that we have provided enough opportunities between the snack bar and weekend barbecue shifts for parents to fulfill their commitment. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to a fun and rewarding Spring season.

Our league has two options for the snack bar to be chosen during the registration process:

Option 1: $300.00 deposit paid online at time of registration or paid offline (use code: SNACKBAR26 at checkout) with a check payable to SPGSA to be collected at uniform sizing* This deposit will be held by the league as a good faith deposit that you will work the two shifts assigned by your team.  Your original check (uncashed) will be returned to you upon completion of BOTH shift. If you made the deposit online, the deposit will be refunded to your form of payment within a week of your completed second shift. Your check will be deposited if you do not complete BOTH shifts as scheduled by your team. *If a snack bar deposit is not given by the date of uniform sizing, your child’s registration will be deemed incomplete and a uniform will not be issued to your child. Snack bar shifts will be made available through the Sign-Up Genius link in Spring. Canceling or changing your shift with less than 24 hours notice will be considered a no-show and your deposit will be cashed.

Option 2: $250.00 buyout of your shift (PAYABLE ONLINE AT TIME OF REGISTRATION).  This option will relieve you of your responsibility to work the snack bar and provide the funds to hire a replacement.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO SEND A REPLACEMENT FOR YOU.  HOWEVER, IF THE REPLACEMENT IS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, THIS PERSON MUST BE PREQUALIFIED BY THE SNACK BAR PERSONNEL.

FALL BALL

What is Fall Ball?

Our Fall Ball Season runs September through November and is intended as an instructional season to give returning players a chance to further hone their skills and understanding of the sport, while also providing new players the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of the sport of softball. With a more relaxed and less competitive atmosphere, the emphasis is on “teaching” to help develop and prepare for the upcoming Spring Season and beyond.

League and inter-league games are held on the weekends from September through November. Although the games are competitive in nature, they are stand-alone games with no standings being recorded throughout the season. Traditionally, there is a season-ending tournament held for those teams who are interested and who participated as part of the Rec Fall Ball Season.

Fall Ball is open to all girls in the 8U - 14U divisions. 6U division may also be available this Fall. Players that participate in Fall Ball should play at the age level that they will be playing in for the 2026 Spring Season. Please see the age chart posted on the registration page.
